PROJECT OVERVIEW

Vanceva Toughened and Laminated Glass Windows for Bilborough College

The project at Bilborough College aimed to transform its architectural landscape through the integration of innovative design concepts and high-quality materials. By incorporating ten shades of Vanceva toughened and laminated glass within the window and curtain walling layout, the college sought to achieve a visually stunning division between its education departments while prioritising functionality and sustainability.

Project Objectives

Implement an innovative design concept using Vanceva toughened and laminated glass to create a visually striking division between college education departments.

Enhance the architectural appeal of Bilborough College by integrating high-performance curtain walling systems around each staircase.

Maximise airflow within the college building without relying on mechanical assistance, through the strategic integration of bottom-hung open-in vents and top-hung open-out vents in each composite window.

Meticulously design and implement the Vanceva toughened and laminated glass windows to seamlessly blend with the existing architectural framework, ensuring both aesthetic excellence and functional efficiency.

Scope of Work

Incorporation of Vanceva Toughened and Laminated Glass: The project involved integrating ten shades of Vanceva toughened and laminated glass within the window and curtain walling layout of Bilborough College. This integration was essential to create a distinct separation between the college education departments, while adding aesthetic appeal to the building.

Utilization of High-Performance Curtain Walling System: A high-performance curtain walling system was employed to construct impressive three-dimensional spaces around each of the college staircases. This system facilitated the creation of soaring spaces reaching heights of up to 16 meters, characterised by contemporary elegance and architectural grandeur.

Enhancement of Airflow: To ensure optimal ventilation within the college building, a strategic approach was taken to maximise airflow without relying on mechanical assistance. This was achieved by integrating bottom-hung open-in vents with top-hung open-out vents in each composite window. By incorporating this feature, the project not only prioritised environmental comfort but also promoted sustainable design practices.

Design and Implementation: The project involved meticulous design and implementation phases to seamlessly integrate the Vanceva toughened and laminated glass windows into the existing architectural framework of Bilborough College. Attention was paid to detail to ensure that the final outcome not only met the functional requirements but also exceeded expectations in terms of aesthetics and performance.
